Bouley - a la carte or tasting

Taking my husband to Bouley on Saturday for his birthday thanks to some recs and glowing praise here - now I'm trying to decide between the a la carte or tasting menu... any thoughts/views? Price not really a factor, more for the experience. We probably won't have matched wines, if that makes a difference.

I love the tasting menu (but I also love the a la carte--come to think of it, I love all of Bouley!). The tasting menu is wonderful (I had it for my birthday in August) since it gives you more variety. The only thing that isn't on the tasting menu is the seared foie gras, but I'm sure if you want it, they could adjust your tasting menu. I definitely need to make a return visit very soon to Bouley. My buddy, steakrules85, recently posted his glowing review of Bouley.

I've been to Bouley a few years ago and went for their tasting menu with paired wines. It was such a great dining experience. Anywhere I go and plan on ordering the tasting menu, I try really hard to spend the extra $40 or so for the paired wines...it just completes the dining experience IMO.
