I often will take 3rd street home from work, and there's got to be a stoplight just east of this place, because I've found myself just sitting there staring through my windows many times at My Secret Recipe thinking "I wonder what that place is like?"

For whatever reason it caught my eye and I've been meaning to post a query for awhile.

The LA times reviewed it on Wed. and it looks good. I'm wondering if any hounds have been there and have any suggestions before I give it a try.

Thanks!

It's very good if you like squid.
They try to turn down the heat if you'r not Korean.

Oh yes, you've got to try this restaurant.. it's absolutely delicious!! They have great bulgogi (Korean bbq) too. The spicy small octopus dish (the main dish at this restaurant) is excellent, and if you're sensitive to spice you can just ask them to make it less spicy. You must try!! Also try the seafood pancake (pa-jun).. :)
There's a second location at KoreanTown Plaza (western and 9th st)

I stopped by last wed with the LA Times article and
ordered the pancake and the rice bowl. It came with a
great cumumber soup and superior kimchee. I will be back
to have the pancake but the rice bowl is really hot though I asked for the tame version. The food is spicy
but not too salty a plus for me. Both dishes were $7.95
I love LA.
