WD-50, wine pairing or not?

Going to WD-50 tomorrow night and wanted to know if we are suppose to order wine pairings or not. I have heard grumblings that the quality of wine doesn't justify the price. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. When we went, we opted to share a bunch of small plates (many of which comprised the tasting menu) and a bottle of wine. The bill came out to be what the tasting menu would have been for just one of us, without wine. I think it's a solid way to eat there.

I don't think that answers LVI's question. It sounds like they're doing the tasting menu (which is the best way to eat there, if it's your first time).

Anyway, I agree that the wine pairing isn't the best value. I quite like the cocktails there, so I much prefer doing a glass or two of wine during the middle of the meal and opening and closing with cocktails.
