Chinese Food in Patterson Park/Canton

Alright everyone, what are some decent places to get takeout or delivery Chinese food in the above mentioned neighborhoods. My wife and I just moved over to this neck of the woods and we are 0/2 with delivery places. Royal China and some place closer to Fells Point were absolutely horrible.

I'm not looking for Grace Garden as an answer here. I've been there a couple times and yes its fantastic.

Ding How is okay; prolly the best for delivery (not saying much).

People like Sam's kid as a pan-asian alternative; I think they deliver within Fells Point but not sure how far they deliver.

I'm in the same area and have the same problem. I think Ding How is awful. There is a brand new place--I got the menu in the mail--on Eastern, on the block between Collington & Chester, by the duckpin bowling place. I keep trying to remain optimistic about it, but, then again, I've not yet tried it. ;)

I'm going to swing by this place on my way home today and grab a menu. It's incredible how bad the generic Chinese food is in Baltimore. When we lived in Mt. Vernon would get stuff from Uncle Lee's, which was serviceable but not great.

Sometimes you just have a craving for that type of food and it's pretty great for a hangover, but Baltimore is lacking on the takeout Chinese.

It's very mediocre, average Chinese...probably exactly what you are expecting!

Mediocre is better than horrible! Sounds like a winner. HA!

I got take out from there once and it's steps down from Ding How IMO. I usually have a reasonable tolerance for Chinese take-out but I won't be eating there again.

As for Ding How, if you want recs, their chow fun is pretty good and their dumplings are not very greasy at all. They also generally do a good job with Chinese veggies.

I also get food from China Chef every so often - usually dumplings and lo mein.

When we used to live in Highlandtown this was my wife's pick for take out or taking visiting Chinese expats out. She thought they did a good job with Shanghainese style shrimp. I suppose she knows since she is from Shanghai. Shortly before we moved we found a place in Dundalk around Holabird & Merritt that had some good dishes. The name escapes me now, that was 6 years ago.

              "this was my wife's pick"
By this I meant Ding How, sorry to be vague.

Have to give a shout-out for the China Chef (carry-out only). It's in the Santoni's Shopping Center on Lombard Street (I know, a little dicey). China chef's been there for years. It had some ups and downs over the years. We hadn't ordered from there for a long time till just recently (past 6 months or so) and they've really improved (changed hands?). One of the best eggdrop-wonton soups I've ever had (in Balto).

Ding How is hit or miss and the new place on Easten (I forget name) was really good when they first opened but quickly went way down hill. For take out we're strickly China Chef for now.

Every Chinese place in Fells/Canton is pretty much equally crappy. Ding How is a small notch above, but not much. We usually order from Asian Harbor. They're fast, consistent, and nice, and you can order online.

We've found a "decent" place recently - Asian Harbor on Lombard Street, just outside of Little Italy. They deliver to the Patterson Park area. It has a wide range of "asian" dishes, Chinese, Thai, etc. The dishes are consistent, not too salty, and a good value. We recently got a noodle and a fried rice dish and it fed us for a dinner and 2 lunches. Not bad for $15! If you order online, there's a 10% discount code which negates the delivery fee.
