Man vs Food in Columbus

Happened to see The Thurman Cafe and Schmidt's on this show. Are they any good or just pig out places?

Thurman Cafe has some of the best burgers in Columbus. Expect a wait. Schmidt's is pretty good, the german potato salad and cream puffs are, imo, the best things they offer. There are better places in German Village.

I used to be a regular at the Thurman (Before they added on the waiting area)....Oh boy some of the stories! I really really wish Detroit had a burger place like the Thurman.

We've never tried Thurman Cafe, and I gotta say the burgers looked gross (fried grease bombs) to me on Man vs Food. Are they better than they look on the show? My DH has a serious burger jones, but even he thought they looked unappetizing on the show.
