Best Ribs Ever!

Corner Stable's ribs are amazing! When they claimed "fall off the bone" they weren't kidding. It was the first time I've ever eaten ribs with fork. There are two different bbq sauce choices, regular which was what I get it was more of a sweet sauce, but there is also a texas sauce that they let me sample (which I loved that they offered to do that without me having to ask) the texas sauce was a little thicker, wasn't "spicy" just had a kick to it and a nice smokey flavor. The exterior of the building doesn't exactly draw you in, but once inside it is a very relaxed, comfortable, and casual environment. I love food and I love dining out but I hate stuffy restaurants and it isn't like that at all. I've been a few times now and the food has always been great as well as the service. They were also extremely fast, I would definitely recommend for a fast lunch for those of you on a tight work schedual.

  1. Corner Stable is one of those love it or hate it places. I have friends that adore it (although one of them is also in love with Chili's boneless chicken wings). I think it's repulsive -- they serve parboiled baby back ribs in this candy-sweet sauce that to me is just horrible.

I much prefer going a few blocks north to Andy Nelson's, where they smoke real ribs over wood. They are meaty and don't fall off the bone (not a desirable characteristic for ribs anyway), and do a Carolina pulled pork sandwich that I would probably choose for my last meal.

I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from trying Corner Stable -- like I said, it's much beloved by a lot of people. But a BBQ enthusiast isn't going to find anything to love there.

How are the ribs at Charcoal Deli? Its just northwest of the Corner Stable -- across from the Pizza Hut. Not a sit down place, btw.

This non-BBQ enthusiast gets the crabcake at Corner Stable... it's pretty good.

      2. The phrase "fall off the bone" is anathema to many bbq fans. i prefer mine with some 'pull' to them. Parboiling is a common trick to getting the meat "fall off the bone" tender.

Right. You don't want them tough, but they should be meaty and not mushy. Corner Stable ribs are the latter and haven't been anywhere near a piece of wood.

        2. Really bad ribs in my book. I'm mystified that people like this place, especially when Andy Nelson's is just up the street.
