What's new, great, cheap, back in season, end of the season?

    the Saturday market (9-2) at Larkspur Landing has a wonderful fish vendor.

      They're at a bunch of North Bay markets. They say they have their own boats, but they also sell imported stuff including Chilean seabass.

        Seconding the fish from Santa Rosa Seafood at the Larkspur Landing Market (at the Marin Country Mart). Outstanding fish, I go there every Saturday and always find great fresh products.

        I had some of the best citrus that I've had for a while from the Tory Farms stand at the Thursday Ferry Plaza Market -- the Page Mandarins were fantastic, I only wish I had bought more. Very flavorful and tart.

          Berkeley Tuesday:

          Ram Das navel oranges, juicy, aromatic, great acidity. $1.60#

          Full Belly green garlic; between last week and this, they doubled or tripled in size, some now have bulbs. $4# was four good-sized plants; I'll make stock with the green parts.

              Alemany :

              Avocados - got 3 for $2 - awesome stuff.
              Fresh Olives - for home curing - i think they were $2.50/lb.
              Winter Greens - Arugula and Radichio at the south end of the market
              Oranges - got a 5 lb bag from Twin Girl - most were pretty good.

                Dancy (I think) tangerines from Ram Das are really good right now, too. Thin skins, tart-sweet, juicy.
