I'm traveling alone and would like to have a recommendation for the best afternoon tea for one. I know it is best enjoyed with a companion but I will be in London and would love to experience afternoon tea. Since this is a one time thing for me so price is not a factor. Thank you in advance for your help.

You might well enjoy tea at The Mandeville Hotel. I went there with my niece and enjoyed the food, service, and the fact that we were almost the only people there that day. It's not a huge space as some of the London tea venues are, and I think you'd feel very comfortable as a solo person.

I second the Mandeville. It was extremely quiet when my husband and I visited and I think I would feel perfectly comfortable having tea there alone. The food was very nice as well.

Brown's Hotel, Albemarle Street. Fabulous tea, gorgeously traditional and intimate tea room.

I made a reservation at the Mandeville Hotel. I'm so excited. Thank you all for your replies.
