Gotchef- gourmet food truck
Got off the train from NY last night and picked up dinner from the new food truck in Milford, Gotchef- The food was amazing!!! I had the lamb ossobucco, so tasty, it melted in my mouth and my SO had the meatballs in a rich tomato sauce served with the most delicious polenta I have ever had in my life! Make sure to grab a dessert too, the apple gallette topped with cannoli cream was out of this world. Who would have thought a little truck in a train station parking lot would be serving dishes even my Italian grandmother would love! Will definitely be a regular here! When I got home I went online and saw it was owned by Biagio Barrone of Biagio's Osteria in Stratford, no wonder the food is so good! Ciao!

I saw that yellow trailer in the parking lot last week but it was all closed up. Stopped last Friday and there were people lined up so I checked out the menu. Took home the meatballs with pollenta and a huge salad with greens, pickled beets, and gorganzola cheese. I could not finish the dinner, huge portion of meatballs and salad. Fast, excellent food. and a great value. Beats the other take out places by a mile. On my list for easy fast dinners.
I haven't tired it yet but certainly will. I live and work in downtown and have to admit I have mixed emotions about it. Not about the food which from all reports is excellent but just hoping that the City gets some a good income from them being there. If I were a downtown restaurant owner/taxpayer and all of a sudden found myself in competition with an out-of-town business I think I'd be pretty curious as to what the deal with the City or the Transit Authority was. Again,I may be speaking from ignorance but just curious.........
