Noodles and Company
So I made a resolution not to eat out so often and then Noodles and Co. opened down the street. Unfortunately, this place is not good for helping me keep my resolution. First the food is very good for semi-fast food. Second, the prices are affordable( $5-$8 for entrees). Third, the portion size and the calorie content is actually in a healthful range. And lastly, the people who work there are friendly, helpful and professional. I've eaten there about 4 times now and I have had the Bangkok curry, Chinese chop salad, Pesto Cavatappi w/chicken breast, Penne Rosa w/meatballs and mac and cheese. My least favorite was the chicken breast and the mac and cheese. The chicken was too over done and the mac and cheese had grated cheese on the top plus a cheese sauce. My favorites so far are the Chinese chop salad and the meatballs. The salad was a real nice blend of veggies and the dressing had a nice spicy kick. The meatballs were very flavorful and generous in size and quantity. The pasta though not al dente, is tender yet not overcooked.Though I am holding myself to my resolution I am glad there is a healthy, affordable and pleasant alternative in my neighborhood.
I ate at the one down the street from me once or twice a year ago and I've never felt compelled to return. I guess it wasn't terrible, but I can' t even remember what I had...certainly wasn't good enough to make me want to go back.
My youngest daughter likes the mac and cheese.
I like the udon.
Not bad. And you're right, the people who work there are very friendly.
I like this place when I'm on a business trip by myself. I usually get the Pad Thai with shrimp. It's not gourmet by a long shot, but I think it's a good value and certainly better than any fast food options I can think of.
I'm not crazy about the noodles...i think they are just ok. But, the new flat bread melt/sandwich things are really good. I get the spicy chicken caesar. Good portion size, very good tasting, and a good value. i generally don't love chains, but I agree...this one is pretty good for something quick.
