Eating well in far West Texas

kayreed Jan 16, 2011 06:09 PM

I'll be traveling to Alpine, Marfa, Big Bend NP, and Terlingua for a week in late February. What do you folks recommend for good eats? Any cuisine, any ambiance. Also, bakeries, breweries, good grocery store tips are all appreciated.

From past experience in 09, our favorites were the restauarant at the Gage (Marathon-about 40 mi north of BBNP) and Cochineal (Marfa) that I mantain is the best restaurant between San Antonio and Santa Fe. Search Marfa on this board for more recs-I recall seeing a few threads on the Big Bend area.
