Frozen, grated cassava (yucca) in GTA with parking??
Anyone know where I can purchase frozen cassava in TO?? I just tried an amazing cassava cake and the recipe calls for grated cassava (frozen)... Don't know anything about cassava, except that it's a weird root that is gluten-free and the third-largest source of carbs for food in the world, and I'm intrigued... Free parking would be a bonus. Thanks.

You don't mention where in GTA,but unless you are downtown you really shouldn't have a problem finding an Asian grocery store with free parking. You will find it at West Indian stores too. Perhaps you could mention what neighbourhood you are close to.

re: sweetie
You're right... I should have been more specific. I'm uptown, near Yonge/York Mills... I went to the new Galleria Supermarket at York Mills/Leslie today but didn't find it... I love T&T on Cherry Street, but would love to find something closer to home... not sure if there's anything uptown... I'm not up on West Indian stores... would love any suggestions you have. Thanks.

re: Moimoi
I am not familiar with that part of town. You are right though, Gallaria would not have this item. There is a possibility that the Loblaws or No Frills has it. I know the No Frills near me carrys it. but that is proably because there is a substantial west indian population here. There are other T & T's besides the Cherry St one, if you are ever north of the city there is one at Warden and Steeles. The only asian grocey stores I can think of are nowhere near you. hopefully some one else can suggest a place close to you. Cassava is used in many cuisines, latin, philippino, west indian.
