What Food To Bring to Hospital Patient?

I am visiting somebody in the hospital tonight and said I'd bring something to eat so that he wouldn't have to down the crappy stuff they call dinner.

I brought him chicken shwarma wraps from the Oasis Market last night and would like to bring something different tonight.

Any food should be easy to eat by hand. I don't want to bring extra utensils, etc.

Any ideas in the general area of downtown Oakland/Lake Merritt?

Thanks for any help.

I really like these Bahn Mi sandwiches!!! Lots of goodies in this cafe. Cheers for your friend in the hospital. You are kind to help like this.

How about a really good sandwich? Bakesale Betty or Bakesale Betty II (best to check the hours), Genova, Ratto's, Cafe 15 come to mind.

I love Cafe 817 (is that what you meant or is there another cafe I don't know about?) but I think it closes early....better check.

Thanks. Don't like Genova's sandwiches or Ratto's for that matter.

Cafe 15 is on Jefferson near 15th. It gets good reviews but it's like 817...breakfast/lunch only.

Koreana Plaza has good takeout. Some of it's good for eating out of hand, e.g. the kimbap (sushi rolls). The chap chae noodles need only a plastic fork.

Chef Yu's has great chap chae.
