Where to Find Best Soy Sauce Chicken in East Bay

Wanted to find out where hounds buy their soy sauce chicken (whole) in the East Bay (above Fremont).

Thanks in advance. Looking to buy prepared soy sauce chicken then smoke it myself.

Haven't bought one from the deli/bbq areas of Oakland CTown in yrs, but Peony has a Soy Sauce Chicken special on Fridays. I've heard people order one at lunch w/ dim sum, pack it up and bring it home for dinner. Don't know if they'd allow straight takeout for it, so I'd try their other place downstairs, Cafe 88.

Thanks KC, yea Cafe 88 seems to be very popular with the Chinese grandma's. I was hoping if there are other places that I may have missed considering the parking issues in Oakland Chinatown especially on weekends.

Well if you avoid parking issues in Chiantown then maybe Saigon Seafood and Diamo in Richmond has decent soy sauce chicken. But the best and cheapest are in the Chinatown's East and West Bay.

I have found that parking is easy, at least on week nights, on the other side of Broadway in "Old Oakland."

Cafe 88 is one of the few Chinese deli places that offer soy sauce yellow feather chicken. $14 total, to go.

Np, lately I've had decent luck parking (during the day) at Orient Market on 7th St (free 2hrs of parking if you spend $20 in the market) or the garage across the street from Peony and the BofA (cheaper than the meters and you don't have to worry about tickets).
