ABC Kitchen, Perilla or something else?

All - I'm planning a nice dinner out in a couple of weeks, don't want to do anything too fancy; I like the idea of dinner in jeans and a sweater. I've taken a look at the menus of both Perilla and ABC Kitchen and they both look good and in the price range I want to spend. Do people have opinions on either place, is one clearly a better bet than the other. At this price point am I clearly missing a great restaurant with a similar cooking style (seasonal American)? I like the tasting menu option at Perilla, even though I'm not sure I'll have the tasting menu.

Thoughts and thank you,

I've been to Perilla several times and thoroughly enjoyed my meal each time (as have my dining companions) -- I haven't been to ABC -- but I love the warm feel of Perilla, the location, and I've found the service to be top notch to go along with the food.

I've been to both ABC Kitchen and Perilla multiple times and really enjoyed both, so you won't go wrong. I've only been to ABC Kitchen for brunch but slightly prefer its food and ambiance.

Mas (farmhouse) and Blue Hill are strong nearby options for seasonal American, but I would personally still go with ABC Kitchen.

Have been to Perilla twice, once for dinner and once for brunch. I felt the brunch was very ordinary.
The dinner was good not "mind blowing". Have not been to ABC Kitchen.
Blue Hill is far superior, but is probably pricier.

Agree with the conclusion on Blue Hill (and Mas), been to both a couple of times and was planning on trying something new. Although I'm glad to hear that people would recommend both ABC and Perilla. Am going to try and make a reservation by the end of the weekend.

I went to Perilla this summer. The food was good...the service was fabulous. I think I loved my dessert but was only so-so on my entree.

Still ,I was sitting alone at the bar and really was made to feel special. I was impressed by the servers knowledge. I plan to try it again.
