Milestone Birthday Cake -60 wonderful years

Hi,
I am tasked with finding the best bakery in Portland to produce a cake for a dear friend's milestone celebration . As I am not local and will be flying in the day before for the festivities I need the assistance of fellow hounds to help me with my decision. Thanks for all your help!

I was in DiPrima Dolci last week, and their menu of cakes looked fabulous. If you're in the market for a traditional Italian dessert, that would be where I'd go.

I don't think I've ever had a better cake than the one I had a few years ago from St. Cupcake. I'm sure it was expensive, probably very expensive, but if price is no object, you won't be disappointed.

A couple months ago I got a small cake for a 40th birthday from Bakery Bar (http://www.bakerybar.com/cakes.shtml). Chocolate with chocolate mousse filling and vanilla buttercream. Moist cake with excellent flavor, beautiful fondant decorations that are impressive even on a small cake, and professional service. That's my go-to shop for celebration cakes now.

          Finales makes excellent cakes:

Aside from the fancy wedding cakes you see on the site, she makes b-day and anniversary, etc. cakes as well. Just fabulous stuff.

Papa Hayden makes the fanciest cakes, delicious, too.
