Point G

Gluttoners Jan 12, 2011 08:11 PM

I was just wondering what you guys think of it? Point G is a macaron boutique (I actually did a review on my website) I don't know if you guys agree with me or if you know any other macaron boutique which is better? I know there is "La maison du macaron" but beside those two...I think that's it... for me at least...

Pretty much the best you'll get here is from point G. Love them.

I'm always looking for it, but can never find it.... much to the dismay for my girlfriend.

      There's a thread about it ...

They're more than a macaroon shop. They make ice cream and bake much more than just macaroons. The first time I tried the macaroons, I thought they were too sweet, but I loved the texture. These days, they don't seem as sweet, but the texture isn't as good. I wonder if they freeze them, and thaw them out as they need them. That's the impression I'm getting texture-wise.The flavours are quite good, though. I still prefer the ones from Europea Espace Boutique.

As for their ice cream, it's really good and probably the best in that part of the Plateau. Their canelés are good, but the ones I've had were not as fresh as I would have liked.

Overall it's a great place. Certainly worth a visit by anyone with a sweet tooth.

Haven't tried them, but I also heard very good things about the macarons at Esprithé, on Laurier. Original flavors with some teas moxed in.
