bringing my son to see Tulane
I am bringing my high school junior on a college trip. His time in New Orleans and I havent been in years (shame on me). HE is a fairly conservative eater....meat and potatoes, caesar slaad. Where should we go on a Sat night with the feel of a New Orleans restaurants with some more simple things on the menu for him like steak or lamb?

As long as you stay off bourbon st, out of Harrah's and act judiciously, age is usually not a prohibitive factor at new orleans bars and restaurants. Frenchman street would be a great place to see NO music with your son. Just walk the 6 or 7 blocks between Royal and Decatur and wander into wherever seems to suit you.

+1 on Delmonico's for a good steak or La Boca
+1 on Frenchmen for music or Mapleleaf if uptownand ++++++++++++1 on Tulane. As a Tulane grad best move I ever made was spending 4 years in that city. Can't wait to see you all soon, as I'll be back in town for the the 1st jazzfest weekend!!!!
