I'm not sure how this topic came up, but my fiance is looking for a good Russian/Eastern European restaurant in the area - any suggestions? Thanks!

And also if not listed above, there is a Russian store at Coit and Campbell. South/West corner I believe. They could tell you which Russian restaurants in Dallas if any, are still open. Most that have opened are closed now. Although, there is a very good Polish restaurant in Plano, I think.
    Good luck.

    1. I believe Twin is thinking of For You Cafe in Plano. They recently moved to a location facing Central Expwy right next to Original Pancake House. I haven't been to thier new location yet.

Thanks for the update, Jim. I love their menu. All my favorite dishes are being served there. They even have kishka for the purists.
I've gotta go there for the pork cutlet sandwich.

Thanks, Jim! The menu sounds delish! I've never had Eastern European before (closest is German), but I always love trying new foods :)

For You is okay but the stuffed cabbage is considerably better at Gio's Cafe & New York Style Deli.

I am sure the For You version is correct to Polish from Poland home cooking, it's not what Americans are used to. I find their other foods okay over all. Their baked goods and sausage are worth a trip.

              Hmm, Gotta try Gio's, now.

Make sure and try the kippered Salmon Salad if they have it.

I Love kippered salmon. But only if it hasn't been frozen. It totally loses it's silky texture if it's been frozen previously.

The do a kippered salmon salad akin to whitefish salad that might have crack in it or something. I have stopped by twice trying to pick some up and all gone. Next time I am calling before I make the trip south.
