New Italian reco's

My wife's birthday is this month and I was thinking of taking her to Osteria Morini or Ciano. If anyone's been to both, which would you recommend? I know they're really different menus, but I'd love to hear your input.

Thanks!

I have been to both, and though I loved the food at both, I would definitely pick Ciano for this occasion. Morini is cramped and loud, while Ciano is cozy and comfortable, with a subdued noise level.

Agree with the above posters. Morini is loud and hectic. It's meant to be casual. Ciano was excellent and the room is beautiful, particularly on a cold winter night.

We have not been to Morini, but we have been to Ciano. I agree with boopster that it's an excellent place to celebrate your wife's birthday. Delicious food; a good wine program; cordial, attentive service; and very pleasing ambiance. If you go, the veal meatballs are not-to-be missed!

I've been to both and I would have to say go with Ciano- the food is great and the space is really cosy. I went last night and the fire was roaring, service was spotless- overall a lovely experience. Osteria was just not as refined and not as remarkable- although it was perfectly fine.
