Killer Shrimp?

Is there anyplace (preferably Westside) that serves something like Killer Shrimp?

  1. Jack Shrimp in Newport Beach is the only close facsimile.

Apparently the Newport Beach location is closed and another Jack Shrimp has opened in Alisa Viejo. Acc to my simple searches. The pictures on the website do look good, though.

This is wrong information. Just called Jack Shrimp in Newport Beach.

They were closed Super Bowl Sunday. But, they are open for business today, 5pm for dinner.

Thanks for checking. web searches are pretty imperfect.

Maybe you read that other food review site, wrong? That site does say the AV location is closed.

    2. Just read on Eater LA that they are re-opening at the Organic Panificio location in Marina Del Rey.

seriously? bummer. i was SO hoping for something good there. (no offense to those of you who like the place, it's just not my cup of tea.)

Well, they have 3 separate restaurants all next to one another. So your wish may still be granted at some point in the future.

ah, right - i forgot there's more than one space. hell, i'd jump on it myself to *finally* open my catering/restaurant business if i had the financial backing for it.

      2. Eater LA is reporting that Killer Shrimp is reopening in the Marina at the old Harbor House.

My friend is going to be very happy if that's true.

Going from a smallish operation to one of the Edie's Diner size is a real leap of faith, wallet, etc.
I wish them good luck, and surely hope they have the following, but I have serious concerns.

hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Killer Shrimp deal must have fallen through. as of last Wednesday it reopened as the Ocean Pacific Cafe.

no menus posted on their website yet, i may pop in tomorrow to do some recon.

Damn! I had been to Jack Shrimp (and wrote a report) and, sadly, it is not like what I remember getting at Killer Shrimp. I was holding out hope that they were still going to reappear.

                2. Steel yourself for campy decor but Bubba Gump shrimp has a similar dish on the menu.
