New Middle Eastern/kabob place - Raffi's Catering & Banquet - in East Pas/Sierra Madre

Sometime in the last few months a new place opened up in the old Lili's Cuban Buffet space in the Albertson's shopping center on the NW corner of Michillinda and Sierra Madre Blvd. If you're not familiar with the area, Raffi's is not visible from the street, rather it's tucked in a little strip of shops at the back of the lot.

Given that the signs all say Catering and Banquet I wasn't sure if they offered anything other than catering but closer inspection revealed a take out counter at the end of the building. I stopped in tonite on my way home and picked up a combo plate. It was ~$12, which was a little more than I had anticipated but wow... for that twelve dollars they sure provide a lot of food. In fact, when I got it out of the takeout containers it easily filled up two full sized dinner plates and was more than I could possibly finish on my own.

And the food - it was delicious! The combo plate consisted of 3 kabobs (beef/lamb, chicken and lula) tabbouleh, hummus, a large charred jalapeno and tomato, garlic sauce, pickled vegetables, grilled onions, pita and a very generous helping of rice. There was about a 10-15 minute wait for my order but it was clear that the time was spent preparing the meal as it was very fresh, well seasoned and the meat wasn't the slightest bit dry.

According to their menu, they have various kebab plates, sandwiches and a deli case with some desserts (baklava, etc) and hummus, etc. Unfortunately, I was the only person there - I'm hoping that they start to get some business as I am stuffed, happy and looking forward to making this a regular stop on the way home.

It doesn't appear that they have a website but they do have a facebook page -

If anyone drops in please report back - I'd love to hear reviews of some of their other items

There is - although I didn't see any indication that they are affiliated.

I called tonight and you're right, they are not affiliated. The owner told me, the Raffi's in Glendale is Persian, while the Pasadena location is Lebanese. Looking forward to trying it. Big fan of Raffi's in Glendale.
