Knight Salumi Co

Anyone know what happened to these guys? Their website is empty (has the Knight template, but all content is gone) and they weren't at the Little Italy farmer's market this weekend. Are they taking time off? I truly hope they haven't gone out of business...

Edit: add their web address: http://www.knightsalumico.com/

  1. Oh dang! I was going to go to the UTC farmers market this thursday (haven't been in a while) and I'll keep an eye out there.

It's been slim pickins for produce at the UTC Farmer's Market the past few weeks - it's that time of year, I guess. I do not recall seeing the salami folks last week, but then again I didn't look *that* closely.

I looked last week. They weren't there. Bummer.

    2. I e-mailed them, and the e-mail bounced. I suspect they've gone under. Can anyone confirm? This would be a real tragedy, one of the higher quality, more unique offerings in the SD food scene.

I tried calling but just got a generic VM message, and their Facebook page is also gone. I also hope they're still around.

      2. They had a booth at the Encinitas Farmer's Market on Sunday.

Thanks, if you see them again, please ask about their website and report back?

        2. I was at the Poway farmer's market on Saturday and saw a booth with their banner, so maybe they are just reorganizing?

          2. The website is back up. Looks like they've moved to the Miramar area and have a new address and phone number, but what that means...??? Was actually hoping to catch them in Poway this Saturday!

            1. Yes we have moved our offices, and had to make some upgrades at our production facility. We have had some hiccups along the way but should have everything in order by the end of the week.

Is there a possibility to buy something at your production facility ? I don't live to far away and it would be easier to buy it their inseatd of trying to find a shop

Went by the Poway Farmer's Market this morning, to see your guy only selling sausage sandwiches and 1 type of salumi. I asked him how the move went, and he said that it didn't go through, and that it would likely be a few more months before things were back to normal. Tell me it isn't true? Visiting the Knight stand is one of my favorite reasons for visiting the market.

I spoke to someone associated with Knight Salumi the other day, and was told there is an ownership/management change going on, that there is a name change on the way, and that they will continue to carry the same products as before, as well as adding quite a few new ones.

It sounds like they're in the middle of a transition period right now, but should soon be back on the scene in full force.
