Lamb Shanks/Osso Bucco in Sacramento Area

  • 2

Where can I find richly sauced, deeply flavorful and succulent lamb shanks/osso bucco with sides of creamy risotto or cheesy polenta in the Sacramento area?

I could do it myself on a cold winter night--but sometimes you just want some pampering!

  1. You might call Biba's and see if they have them.
I can recall a year or so ago, we enjoyed Osso Bucco with polenta.

    1. I don't know about all the adjectives and adverbs, and for a starch you may be limited to mashed potatoes, but Jamie's does a good job with both lamb shanks and osso bucco. Solid food, reasonable price, divey setting. Way too crowded since Guy Fieri put it on TV, though.

The only braised meat on Biba's online menu is rabbit, but you never know what specials they're going to offer. Aioli has a lamb shank on the menu; I haven't tried it, but haven't had a bad meal there. And if you can find Buonaroti (it's hidden back behind William Glen) they make a decent osso buco.
