May 2012 Wedding in NYC for 25/30 people

Hi, I am traveling to NYC in May of 2012 to be married. I will have approx 25/30 guests and I am looking for somewhere to host the reception. I am hoping to spend about $110 - $150 per person including drinks but this can be stretched to suit the correct venue. My requirements would be as follows although I'm sure I will have to over look a few;

American Cuisine
Private Dining area
Bar area for drinks and mingling
Outdoor space if possible....I.E. Terrace/Balcony/Garden
Option for entertainment/Dancing
Option to add decoration I.E candles, table favours etc

I have been checking all the restaurant sites for places and came across this website, I would prefer referrals or word of mouth and as I only have a small window next month to view the places I am hoping you can help me!!

Thank you in advance,
Lynda X

    Call a wedding planner.

      Good advice.
      That is a relatively low price point and is a room size that falls in between small (say 15) and large venues (100+). I think it would be well worth the cost to get a planner (i.e. spend money on the planner to save the per person expense).

      My only other suggestion, if cost is an issue, consider a luncheon reception. Cheaper and quicker. I did a Sunday lunch for my wedding and it was half the cost of a Saturday night dinner wedding. That and the guests are out of your hair after 4 hours-with less drinking, so you will avoid the potential for embarrassing situations-which always seem to happen when cousin Joe enjoys the open bar for a bit too long.

        The price is not so much of an issue, I should have mentioned that....I willing to pay substantially more for the right venue.

      I attended a rehearsal dinner last year at 3 West Club. We were in the Solarium -- both inside and outside on a terrace overlooking Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick's. There was live music. I recall that the food was good. As a guest, not the hosts, I can't speak to the price.

        I was married in 2005 at 11 Madison Park. I'm pretty sure the prices were different then (cheaper) but we had a great experience. They have separate rooms on the 2nd level that overlook the dining room.
