Great pizza in Praiano and Amalfi coast

We will be visiting the Amalfi coast for two weeks this April, staying in Praiano. Would love to have some recommendations for the best pizza places. We were in Nice last spring, and got a recommendation for great pizza from Rosa Jackson. It was for a tiny place called Bar du Coin. Just wonderful for a great lunch. If anyone knows of any similar finds, I would love to hear.

Sorry I don't have any suggestions for the AC, but I think Katie Parla has a list of her favorite pizza place(s) in Naples, which you really should visit if you have 2 weeks and love pizza! Check out her website www.parlafood.com.

If you are spending that much time on the Amalfi coast you should check out Carla Capalbo's book on the Foods of Campania. It is said that many of the best pizzamakers in Campania come from the mountains behind the coast - the pizzas we had were very good.up at San Giovanni in pontone, a village above Amalfi, but I suspect the overall standard is pretty high.

there are also a lot of good reviews and recommendations on this board on eating on the Amalfi coast - you should do a search.

Thank you, have been lurking on this board for quite some time. I cannot even believe how much perfect pizza appeals to me. We will certainly visit Naples, and thank you both for the recommendations. Also, we live in the New England, USA, and are very interested in an authentic Pizza making class. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

We had really good pizza on 2 occasions at La Strada in Praiano. It's on the road from Positano on what I refer to as the "west" side of Praiano (the Positano side.) We were in Praiano for 6 nights in September and had a great time. Have fun!
