Vancouver - 3 days down memory lane
I lived in Vancouver for 6 years and moved to the US 3 years ago. I will be back in a few weeks and have 3 days to eat myself stupid (er).
Way back when, I would have chosen these restaurants as "must visits" to anyone asking for suggestions. They are not necessarily the fanciest places but the best of Vancouver as I saw it:
Go fish (on a nice day I just loved the experience)
Cioppinis (sp?) in Yaletown
Whats changed. Are these still the ones or is there a must try?
I am also looking for the best place to get a) shanghai soup noodles and b) szechuan food close to downtown. Any ideas welcome.

Moz - all the ones you listed are still around and upholding their reputation. But from other accounts, I've heard Blue Water may be a bit inconsistent. Maybe others can confirm this.
Many newcomers in town now. Too many to list. Also food trucks have come on the scene. And many more Japanese ramen places in downtown and south of False Creek side.
Can't think of a "best" shanghai place downtown. Closest ones to downtown would be:
Long's Noodle House (Main@32 Ave)
Peaceful Restaurant (Broadway btwn Cambie & Ash, across from new London Drugs)
TONS of new Shanghai and Szechuan places in Richmond, seems like a new one opens up every month:
zoom into Richmond and you know what I mean:
