Great light meal near the new Gehry Concert Hall, Lincoln Road and 17th Street area, Miami Beach
Going to Miami Beach to celebrate the opening of the New World Symphony's new Frank Gehry concert hall in late January. Need suggestions for fresh, light food choices in that area. Most interested in Italian or fish choices - with emphasis on fresh and clean preparations. Hint: WIll be having lunch at Michael's Genuine one day and Sra. Martinez on another.

- Altamare, on the west end of Lincoln Road - seafood specialist with an Italian tilt.
- Spris (Italian), also on Lincoln Road, will not knock your socks off but rarely will they completely screw up either.
- Icebox Cafe, again on Lincoln Road - I haven't been in a while, and find the execution inconsistent, but it fits the bill on "fresh and clean preparations".-----

re: Frodnesor
I believe the chef at Altamare came from Michael's so the preparations may be similar. Two doors down in the original Altamare space is Provence Grill (same fish purveyor as Altamare). Lots of interesting fish specials always offered, and at a lower price point. Also, one night a week (Tuesday, I think) all wines are half price and the owners are always around to make sure food and service is up to standards. More of a neighborhood place than a destination, and one on our rotation. (The link chow adds below is for their original restaurant off Brickell, after 12 years there they moved to South Beach last year.)
