Fitchburg area restaurants/dinner suggestions

Hi everyone,

Could anyone suggest a restaurant in the Fitchburg area? My family and I will be headed down there on a Friday evening in January for my brother's college graduation. There will be 7 of us, varied ages and tastes (my brother's girlfriend has to eat gluten free but can manage at most places).

We'll be dining later in the evening, after the ceremony.

We don't need anything fancy but a place nice enough to take my grandmother to.

Thanks for the help.

I recommend the Bull Run in Shirley. It's an historic place, been around forever, went through some years of uninspired blase New England Inn fare, but in the last year or so has hired a new chef and completely revamped their menu. Now they do mostly local sourcing, pay attention to procuring quality, organic food, use grass-fed, hormone-free meats, and offer innovative and delicious lunches and dinners.

They have a very nice dining room with a fire place and a comfortable bar as well.

In Leominster, the Monument Grille is the best option in the area. I haven't been in a while, though.

I don;t know much about the area except that there is an Il Forno in Fitchburg. They are an Italian place with huge portions. We frequent the one in Acton and we love it. I think they have a web site Il-forno.com I think. Its a small family owned 3 restaurant chain, the one in Acton is BYOB but I dpnt know about Fitch
