Help! Ozone Park, Woodhaven, Richmond Hill - Need to find a delicious sandwich in this area

Hello Chowhounds!

I need to find a great sandwich in one of the above neighborhoods. I'll be driving but really need to keep it confined to this locale. I like roti a lot but would prefer something more along the lines of a brilliant sub or stupendous reuben. Take out is fine. In fact, a sandwich that travels well would be ideal.

Any thoughts out there?

Have you tried C&C Deli great hot and cold food. Daily specials. It is right behind Aquaduct raceway.

Okay, this is too weird. My original reason for this posting was because I was going to JFK to pick up a houseguest who would need to eat on the fly right after landing since there was no meal on the plane.

On the way back to Glendale, we made a wrong turn off North Conduit and onto Albert Rd AND Centreville St. In other words, we DROVE RIGHT BY THIS PLACE before making our way back onto North Conduit!

Hilarious!

Anyway, the next time I'm in the area, I'll check it out!

If you are talking about JFK then the list expands. There is Ragtime deli on Crossbay Blvd. And even Sugar Bun has good food as well great breakfast. and bagels, bialys, etc..

it's not weird us food people we get around..

Sugar Bun is great! I had my first bacon, egg and cheese sandwich at the Bun - fond memories and great bakery.
Also on Crossbay in Howard Beach is Ragtime, a good Italian deli, and New Park Pizza.

Probably not what you're looking for, but if you're in the mood for a good hotdog, Dominick's is definitely worth a stop. It's on Woodhaven Blvd, outside St. John's cemetery. The blue truck, not the sausage stand a ways down.

Also, just passed Ozone Park, in Howard Beach, Brother's has some good sandwiches. Huge too.

We concur. Manor Deli (94th St and Jamaica Avenue) has been around for 80+ years -- outstanding. Sam's Deli at 87th and Jamaica is also very good.

Manor Deli worked out beautifully! Thanks for the tip and supporting rec. Had a great reuben, potato salad and a friend had a fab chicken salad sandwich. Other stuff certainly looks worth coming back for and checking out ("meatcakes"? hmm...) Thanks again!
