cheap but ethnic italian in edison-new brunswick

I'm looking for an inexpensive but somewhat authentic italian place in the Edison-New Brunswick area (or in reasonable driving distance). Most places seem to be either expensive ristorantes or pizza-and-spaghetti places. Maybe something like $8-10 for lunch, with food you wouldn't normally find at strip mall italian. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Went to LouCas a few years ago. Shrimp still had the shell on it and my Halibut was dry as cardboard. Our group had other food issues.

I like the Tomato Factory in Milltown. Good penne vodka, although my favorite pasta is the pasta fantasia. Spinach linguine with mushrooms, zucchini, chicken and pine nuts in a garlic broth.

Years ago they did a great lunch buffet, but I don't know if they are still doing it.
