Kosher lunch in Chicago/butchers in Cleveland

I will be driving through Chicago in a couple of months and plan to stop for lunch and a look around. I live in the Pacific NW, where kosher restaurants are few and far between. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good lunch/deli? A couple of days later we'll be flying home from Cleveland, so if there's a good butcher/deli there, I'd love to know so I can bring stuff home.

Thanks!

The crc website has a list of all of the approved restaurants in the Chicago area.

Uh, plenty of kosher meat and groceries to be found in Cleveland. Tibor's and Boris' are both outstanding for meat. There are several very good kosher bakeries, a kosher market called Unger's and probably the best kosher Chocolatier you will find, called Chocolate Emporium. Obviously Chicago will have some great choices, but if you don't want to shlep the food from Chicago, you will easily find what you want in Cleveland.

Yes!! Kosher in Northbrook is a restaurant called Mizrachi, Israeli and other. Excellent.
Also in downtown Highland park is a butcher/restaurant called Shaevitz phone:1847 4328334.
The best hamburgers and fries! Oh My!! They are small in the restaurant/cafe but soooooooo
good. The butcher shop is great and we get deli for the road home and cooked ribs for
Cleveland. We eat lunch there everyother month or so.

All of these suggestions are excellent - If you are coming on I-94 Taboun Grill would be the most convenient - it is just east of I-94 on Dempster - Romainians is about 2-3 miles from Taboun - and it is the best butche rin Chicago - all of the deli meats and hot Dogs are excellent !

The best butcher is Romanian. Great meats and salamis.

If you're downtown, I'd recommend MetroKlub. If you're looking for something fancy, Shallots is decent but expensive. Otherwise try one of the Israeli places like Taboun in Skokie, Manghal in Chicago, or Mizrahi grill in the far northern suburbs.

Ken's Diner is a fun place. I'm not from Chicago, so I've only been there a couple of times when I was visiting, but I liked it.
