TC Quick Fire Challenges

I thought it would be interesting to see what new and different QF challenges the TC fans on this board could come up with. Anyone have ideas on this?

Fast food challenge--put them in a fast food kitchen, with only those ingredients, and cook something new for the menu.

I was also thinking of a "fix the error" challenge since i spent this morning fixing my son's mistake w/ Sherry Yard's chocolate mint cookies. I have no idea what he did but his resulting dough was a powder. Give them something like a flattened souffle and have them do something with it.

Ooh, I just had another idea...might work better as an elimination challenge, though, and definitely only on an all-star or reunion episode. What if they settled some rivalries once and for all? Make the chefs who've duked it out before let their food speak for them. The chefs who beat their rivals are up for the win, the ones who don't are up for elimination. (Sorry if that wasn't worded entirely clearly...I'm on the mend from 102 degree fever and 3 days of digestive troubles...it's kinda hard to think clearly about a cooking competition when Cream of Wheat is the only thing that doesn't make you sick.)

I was actually just thinking about this the other day when I was trying to whip up something edible in my picked over kitchen (I work retail, and live in New England...long hours and crappy weather meant I hadn't gotten to the store in a while). Anyway, I had a flashback to the block party challenge from one of the earlier seasons, only I was thinking one cheftestant per house, rather than a team scavenger hunt for the good stuff. Make them use only the ingredients and cookware already in the house. The logistics would be a nightmare, but it would be interesting to see how they'd do in an environment that their audience can relate to better.

I think the QF have been better as the show ages. I liked the protein and blindfold relay challenges a couple of seasons ago and last season's baby food challenge. Anyway... Thoughts...
1. 3 ingredients, 3 bites
Must use all 3 ingredients in each bite, must feature each ingredient once.2. Just add water
Create a portable food item that's cooked by adding a cup of hot water.3. Coconut
Feature it in a dish. (I want to see how the chefs open the thing)4. Column A, Column B, Column C...
Take the ingredients from a place like Taco Bell. Can only use those ingredients (And oil, salt/pepper). Go!5. Yes, I'd like...
Pile of ingredients. 4 teams. Each team writes down what they'd like cooked from those ingredients. Toss in a hat and draw.6. Have we cooked insects yet?

re: ediblover
i like the 3/3 idea - sort of a more standardized version of the Vegas QF when they had to roll the dice to find out how many ingredients they could use...and i prefer yours because everyone is working within the same constraints.
"just add water" might be too similar to the freeze-dried astronaut food challenge.
i could do without #4 - they already make them cook with gas station & vending machine crap.
and no they haven't cooked insects yet...you're really on a creepy-crawly kick lately, aren't you? ;)
