Royal Oak area recommendations for Sunday dinner?
We're meeting friends Sunday in Royal Oak for dinner. They normally want to go to Memphis Smoke (not a fan) or Lily's Seafood (good with me), but I'd like to try something different. The only caveats are they must serve wine and no Chinese or sushi (not my caveats). Any ideas?

Thank you all for the suggestions. I'm loving the Great Lakes board. Everyone is so helpful. I've had a post up on the Florida board looking for recommendations for Key Largo next week -- no replies. World of difference.
Anyway, we ended up at Bastone's Sunday night. Love the atmosphere and the service was great.
Two of us had the chicken and waffles -- not "classic Roscoe's" chicken and waffles, but with veggies and a cream-based sauce, which was very rich, but very, very good. The house salad was good and the leek soup was excellent.
My husband had the walleye and loved it until almost to the end when the last two bites had bones in it. The final member of our party got a steak and said it was mediocre at best. But in fairness to Bastone's, he ordered it well done and then complained it was dried out. Amateur. : )
I'd definitely try Bastone's again. The house Sauvignon Blanc was citrusy and crisp and reaonably priced. Unfortunately I missed the front of the menu specials, $15 ish for an entree and a micro brew.
Thanks again for the great recommendations. Looking forward to trying Lockhart's in the near future.

I think Cafe Muse on Washington is excellent. They have a unique menu and we eat there regularly and have never had a bad experience. While I realize taste is subjective, I seriously don't understand why people like Lockharts. I have been there two times and found it to be just OK. The brisket was fatty and the pulled pork dry. I really wanted to like it.The drive to and wait at Slow's is sometimes a pain but I still have not found any bbq that compares to Slows in the area.

re: Jack Freeman
Thanks for all the suggestions. Our friends decided on Bastones. I'll let you know how it goes.
Jack Freeman, I love Cafe Muse, but neither Cafe Muse nor Cork are open on Sunday night. Cork is on the top of our list as our friends live a half a block away.
In the meantime, got carry out from Coyote Loco in Livonia tonight. Loved the fajitas and enchiladas. Guac was a 10.

Memphis Smoke is now closed. It has been sold and is going to be turned into a Mexican place; I can't remember the name. It's owned by the same guy who opened the Mexican place recently in Ferndale in the location where Rosie O'Grady's used to be. Whey he needs to have two places with the same name and menu so close together is beyond me.
