breakfast/brunch on sunday to impress the inlaws

I am proposing to my girlfriend in New Orleans in the not too distant future, my parents and future in-laws will be joining us for dinner at Commander's Palace on Saturday night and I need a great place that will take a reservation for 8 for breakfast/brunch on Sunday. What I would like is someplace fantastic of course, but reasonably priced to prove to both sets of parents that we have a modicum of common sense after all! I have been told that Cafe Atchafalaya is interesting and will accomodate reservations for 8 on Sunday...you tell me. Thanks

Is the actual engagement taking place at the family dinner or prior to it? If just the two of you will be in attendance for the engagement, would suggest a private room at Arnaud's. Family dinner at Galatoire's and brunch on Sunday at Commander's Palace.

I second the swap. Go to Emeril's for dinner and CP for Sunday brunch. Get a table in the Garden Room overlooking the courtyard.

or consider Commander's for that brunch and elsewhere for dinner?

+1 on that swap idea. For this special occasion it is hard to beat CP for brunch atmosphere and price. And there is a wider choice for dinner spots than special brunch spots

Patois is perfect for this. Fantastic food, really reasonable prices. They open at 10:30 I think for brunch on Sunday. They can accommodate 8 in the upstairs section I'm sure. The space is nicer and the food is better than Cafe Atchafalaya, at the same price point.
