Anabelle's on Mesa/Spicewood
Well, I finally gave in and went. It will fit perfectly with all the other ho-hum "land of the bland" places, sad to say...
Ordered the $6.99 cheese burger. Waiter was timid and unsure. Forgot to ask what side I'd like (not that the menu said there was a side, but I digress) between fruit and chips. I said I didn't care, whatever was best. Asked that my burger be prepared as rare as was allowed.
Burger came out and while it wasn't bad, it wasn't good either; just blah. Burger was cooked very well done and had no real flavor and was on the dry side. Bun was the "8 for 99 cents" generic sesame -seed bun and even though I cut my burger in half, it disintegrated almost immediately (wasn't even toasted, just "raw"). Toppings were fresh enough, lettuce crisp (although a bit wet) and tomato was as good as I'd expect in January. Chips were of the Lays variety.
Again, not a bad burger, just not a memorable burger for the $10 it cost. I probably won't be back.
