Restaurant recommendation for large group/work function

Hey all...need some help. Have a group of 14, looking for a moderately priced but fun location for a work function. To give you an idea, we were thinking Carmines for it's family style service and menu...but it's booked solid (1/29). Any ideas???

Thanks all. Trying to get into Otto through thier group dining contact. I get that Carmines is average stuff, but fit the bill for a large group, family style dining, etc. Let's hope Otto can get us in. Thanks!

Gemma at the Bowery Hotel have a back room that they reserve for large groups. I've been and it's quite good.

I'll second Craftbar, and add Essex & The Smith

Search opentable.com for available places on the night / time in question. Better to get your reservation as early as possible.

          Lupa

Where would Lupa seat 14? Maybe Otto would be a better idea. And the more I think about it, the more I like it: You can get lots of antipasti at Otto and share them, family-style, and unlike Carmine's - I hope ollavac will pardon me for saying so - it doesn't suck.

Another idea would be Crispo, and I do agree with Kefi - I suppose they'd seat that large a group downstairs.

All of these places could be loud, but then, so is Carmine's.

Lupa can accommodate parties of up to thirty people (click on Group Dining):

Otto is a good suggestion too.

Lupa must have a separate big room I've never seen.
