Good venue for book club?
I'm hosting this month, and since I live in Maple Grove, which is far for most people in our group, I decided to host in restaurant or coffee house. We have met previously in the lounge at WA Frost which was great-looking for something similiar. Most people are coming from Roseville or Minneapolis-but St. Paul would be OK too. Any ideas??

I would try Wilde Roast Cafe in NE Minneapolis (wine, coffee, appetizers and desserts) or the Kitty Kat Klub in Dinkytown (although I'm not sure how much they have to eat). Both would be pretty centrally located (between Mpls, St. Paul and Roseville people) and both have comfy couches and more intimate seating areas.

If St. Paul is not out of the question, Black Dog Coffee near the St. Paul Farmer's Market might work. Mostly tables, but coffee and wine and "real food" (not just pastry) if you want it. Lots of parking nearby. Might want to check their calendar, though, to make sure it's not a music night. :-)

The Roseville library has a Dunn Bros coffeehouse and public meeting rooms that can be reserved.

Another place I haven't been to in awhile is Coffee Bene. They have a community room (with tables and chairs) that I think, is free with purchase, as long as you reserve it. They are literally connected to Davanni's, which isn't the most amazing restaurant, but it does give you a more varied menu than just "coffee shop baked goods and sandwiches." I don't know if they have wine, but I'm pretty sure they have beer.
They have cushy sofas, etc. in the cafe part and I'm pretty sure you can bring your davanni's food and beverages into the cafe part if you want to sit on the cushy sofas instead of in the coomunity room.
