Has anyone been to the On the Way Cafe in Rye since the new owners have taken over?

Well, I am not sure when you were there. We were there the end of November with 4 kids and 4 adults and it was terrific. We went again in December and it was also terrific.

I love this place for breakfast. The food is really good, and they use organic products. Some of which we used to get at the Rye Farmers Market, like Featherridge Farms eggs.
I hope they can make it a go out there...

That's good to know. Good breakfast places in the area are few and far between.

Have you been since the new owners took over MRS? I've been wondering if it's the same.

We used to love On the Way and went shortly after it re-opened but it was past breakfast time and they were only serving lunch. We stayed, we ate, it was okay - not nearly as good as the breakfasts used to be. We looked at the breakfast menu and it seemed to be partly the same but with quite a few changes included the prices - higher to match the "fancier" decor.

The place didn't have same "homey" feel we used to enjoy.

That's how I felt about it when we went, laylag. And at least for our lunch, the food didn't merit the new higher prices. I tend to like less fancy, homier places for breakfast.

              Hi laylag, Shawn,
Are you sure you were at On the Way Cafe in rye, NY after May 2010?
That place is great! So much more warm and homey then the truck stop/luncheonette feel the old place had. And the menu/specials have something for everyone. One morning I was in a rush and had bacon, eggs (organic) and cheese on a roll w/a large coffee togo and I think it cost less than next-door at PL market.
MRS you are right on the money. This is a great place for weekend breakfast with the whole family the Wait staff works so well with the little ones and week day lunch is fantastic.

We were there once for lunch. It's "fancier" than it used to be. We had salads. They were OK, but our impression was that there was no need to rush back again. This way maybe a month or two after they changed ownership, so it may not be fair to go by my early experience.
