Hi,

my boyfriend and i are going with another couple (we are in our late 20/early 30's) next weekend and staying in beaver creek, but want to have a fun night out in vail on saturday night. any suggestions? we'd most likely like to go to dinner then out to a lively bar or lounge restaurant suggestions would be great (under $100 per person all in with cocktails and probably a bottle of wine) bar can be anything from a dive to a cocktail lounge just don't know what is out there...

any suggestion in Beaver Creek are welcome as well...we have a reservation a Beono's Cabin for Sunday night..has anyone been? if so, what do you recommend there?

thanks so much!!

Ashea9167 - I'm not really up on the Vail night scene. The resort is 2 hours from my door when there's no traffic, so I don't tend to spend the night. I have been to Beano's, launching pad for several fine chefs now cooking elsewhere. The food is usually good, but not knock-your-socks-off dazzling. The logistics of hauling food up the mountain and also serving lunch to private club members and dinner to the general public are challenging. It is a pleasant experience, but please realize that transport is via snowcat-drawn sleigh, not horse-drawn sleigh. The word "sleighride" conjures up an image that is not met by reality.

OK, how wild and crazy do you want to get in Vail? And do you have a way to get back to the Beav after partying in Vail? The Club is by far the best place to get out of control in Vail. The Red Lion can be fun, Samna is hopping and the Sandbar is where to go to get in trouble. Most of us old folks like to hit Pepi's and listen to Rod work over visiting Texans.

In the Beav, other than some piano bars (I know they are not called that anymore), the Coyote is the only jumping place. If you want down and dirty, locals, hit Bob's or Loaded Joe's in Avon, I don't like Finnegan's, but you might..

I don't go out like i used to and haven't dined in beaver creek/avon for a while. so..... out the door in vail for $100 or less pp with decent food: campo di fiori, alpenrose, larkspur is possible, but with likely have to share app/dessert, same for sweet basil and la tour.

The George, The Club, Tap Room, Red Lion, Sand Bar seem to be a little more up-tempo. I tend to like Pepi's, Alpenrose, King's Club at Sonnenalp but those are more sedate.

        Have fun.
