Any Restaurants Serving Wild Boar (cinghiale) in Tampa Bay?

It's getting chilly outside tonight and I'm craving wild boar...specifically pappardelle cinghiale. Has anyone had any great versions of this in Tampa Bay or know if there any restaurants in tHillsborough or Pinellas that serve this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thank you all so much for the suggestions...I'll call Sideberns tonight. (And keep an eye out for grumpy boars with lasers on their heads. :-)

If you check around in the East County, Hillsborough, Manatee, Sarasota; there are quite a few people who hunt the Florida Wild Hogs, these are not Chingale rather feral hogs that have been wild for generations, (over150years). Visit a hunting/fishing shop, they can tell you when the next Florida Fish and Game "Wild Game Dinner" will be held, they are open to the public, and quite interesting in a weird sort of way!!!!!

The Wyoming Antelope Club in Pinellas Park has a wild game dinner in October every year. I keep wanting to check it out but we have a had things come up.

Yeah, the one at WAC is on the last Saturday of October.

It's $15 per person for all you can eat, and one shot at the "turkey" target (bring your own firearm + $5 per extra shot, and the proceeds go to local community youth programs). The Pinellas sheriffs department and local NRA reps run the ranges.

I took my son last October. They served venison, wild turkey, wild pig, and chicken. The food was pretty good, we had fun, and the proceeds go to the local charities.

Y'all need to kill something first! Also, who the better half is, is debatable ;-)

not sure if I'll be able to take one down, but I know your hubby is a pretty awesome shot, so worst case maybe I can bogart a loin off him ;)

Pig hunting, this is the perfect weather for it. We usually go north of Polk City, up by Green Swamp. Y'all hunting with dogs?

We're planning on doing some rabbit hunting later this month, out on the west side of Lakeland. I put a new barrel and choke onto my shotgun, that I'm dying to test out.

I've seen boar on the menu at The Refinery from time to time, and at Sideberns... I can't vouch for it being wild though, it may have been spontaneous or ill-tempered boar

Sidebern's posted on their Facebook page about a new Wild Boar entree on the menu just this past Wednesday. They probably still have it: "New entree tonight - Wild Boar Loin with creamy parmesan farro, sweet medjool dates, toasted walnuts, braised escarole and a balsamic sauce infused with juniper berries!"

Keep an eye out for 'sanglier' on the menu, too -- 'sanglier' is French for 'cinghiale".

              :P
