30th Birthday in Montreal

I need you "chowies" to help me choose a resto in Montreal to celebrate my 30th birthday. I tried le Local but its fully booked for Jan 22nd.

I'm looking for great food and atmosphere. Something to remind me that I was "young" at some point. Just looking for good food and a good vibe. Preferably the Old Montreal.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Stick with DNA - you'll have good food, and a great time there.

I once went to L'Assomoir for my birthday, but it was for drinks only. Huuuuge selection, pretty good atmosphere.

Have you considered Buvette Chez Simone or Santos?

l'Assomoir, only for drinks; IMO, food is not that great, and it can get quite loud in the evening.

There's always Le Hangar, a bit off Old Montreal (Wellington Street on the other side of Bonaventure) same owners as Le Local

You're about 2 weeks older than me!! Remember, age is just a number.

From what I've been told, DNA is the way to go. But you and your friends can't be afraid to try new things.

What about Chuck Hughes's Garde Manger or Barroco (on St-Paul, right next door)? Both offer this "young" vibe you are looking for; on the other hand, both are on the expensive side (but this didn't seem like an issue by reading your post).

I looked into Garde Manger, but its closed till the 10th and I need another plan since it seems hard to get a reso there.
