Dim Sum in Metro Detroit area

Looking for really good, if not great, dim sum in the suburban Detroit area. I am visiting relatives and want to find a restaurant - they know nothing about this type of dining.

What area are you going to be in and how far are you willing to travel ?

Well, you've got some options then.In addition to Shanri- La, I believe Golden Harvest in Warren does dim sum too. Also, in Ypsi/A2 area Great Lakes and Asia City also serve it.

Roughly equal to Golden Harvest in Warren, but closer to Rochester.
Personally, I'm looking forward to trying Asia City. :-)

I went for lunch today at East Lake ( 5 mins from my house and I have been ~20 times) but forgot that cart service ended at 3pm on Sunday. The menu is always available but the cart (s) is (are) very cool. I know they have cart service on Sundays. Don't know about the other days. Going at 12 noon can be a long line and 99.7% Asian. A good sign for me.

Referencing another post: China Chef is across the street if the wait is too long for you. Get the crispy chicken (20 minutes prep time but worth it).

Shangra La in shopping center at 15 Mile Road and Orchard Lake in West Bloomfield. Best in the city. They have carts at lunch and late night dim sum (after 10) off of a menu.
