Splendido, Crush Wine Bar or Forte Bistro

My BF wants to go to one of these three for his Birthday. We have not been to either of them. What would your choice be and why?

I'm looking for somewhere with descent food.. but I am also huge on atmosphere. I like places that are not to bright that feel like sitting at a diner... something more romantic.

I have been to crush, it is a really nice restaurant, friendly server and the food was really good.
However, I did like the doughnut dessert but I went during summerlicious so it might have been the rush.
I found the place very comfortable without being stuck up

Splendido is the most expensive but is a good distance ahead in terms of food and service IMO. I like all three but I'd pick Splendido.

After further research on these I ended up booking us for Jump Cafe and Bar (a friend went there recently and said it was good...) there menu is large enough to accommodate me (as I'm picky and have allergies which seemed a problem with all the other menus) boo.

I will try Splendido another time when I'm in the area. Maybe for Lunch.

Just FYI, Splendido is only occasionally open for lunch as a special thing every now and then. Also, they are usually very accommodating about allergies and substitutions.

Ok.. I will try it sometime other then this night for dinner :) It just has a lot of bad reviews lately so I was skeptic (not on the food. but on the service) I definitely want to try it, but will wait until I have something in the area going on that makes it convenient.
I hear enough good reviews to try it, but didn't want to risk it this time around...will try in month of so on normal date night :)

Splendido, no contest. When you call to make the reservation, mention it is a romantic birthday dinner. They'll take care of you.

Haven't been to Crush or Forte, but Splendido's a really nice space (I think). It's still considered an occasion restaurant. I find they do veg dishes really well.
