Known Albuquerque Food Trucks?
Hello,
Does anybody know if there is a street in Albuquerque that is known for a gathering place for street food (such as food trucks and/or carts)?
What I'm looking for is an area that has multiple street food vendors that locals love to congregate around.
Thanks!
You see some parked by the Metro Court at lunchtime, west side of 4th Street north of Lomas. I wouldn't say "locals love to congregate around" them, though. Locals eat in restaurants, for the most part.

Gotcha. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!

Unlike some other places our food trucks tend to spread out, not bunch. You might find more carts than usual on Friday nights downtown as there is a bar crowd and they usually control traffic. Marble brewery usually attracts at least one food truck on weekend nights.

Right. I read somewhere that it's hard to get a permit to sell street food in ABQ, so there aren't too many food trucks/carts around.

Not only that, but there's too much competition from wholly unlicensed people who go around with coolers of burritos and tamales. ;-)

In addition to 4th and Lomas, there are carts on Wednesdays on Alcazar east of the Talin Market (Louisiana and Central). This is new, so no amenities (like seating) yet. A group is getting zoning through the City so the trucks can locate on the Talin parking lot. Last week there were BBQ, desserts, and sandwiches. It's open again today. A new blog - abqfoodcarts.com will start reviewing food trucks, so let them know your favorites.
