Looking for retro sweets near Pasadena area

mmmstaek Jan 5, 2011 11:09 AM

Does anyone know where I can find vintage/retro/nostalgic sweets near the Pasadena area? I'm looking for anything within 10 miles of Pasadena.

Thank you!

Galco’s Soda Pop Stop in Highland Park carries quite a few kinds of retro and vintage candy and hundreds of retro sodas, Call first to see if they have what you are looking for.

There is a sweets shop on Green Street just west of what used to be Twin Palms (between Pasadena Ave and Delacey) in Old Town. I have not been in, but it seems to have a lot of retro options.

I think WildSwede is referring to Rocket Fizz:

They have an impressive selection of retro and artisanal sodas (one of their distributors is Real Soda in Real Bottles in Torrance) and good selection of vintage and hard-to-find candy. It's been a few years since I've been to Galco so I'm not sure how they compare.

Yup, Rocket Fizz would fit the bill!

Little Flower Candy Co definitely has that retro/vintage feel, but probably isn't the spot if there are particular brand names you are looking for.
