Sunday dinner near the Sofitel

I need a restaurant suggestion that is open for dinner on Sundays, walking distance from the Sofitel (15th near Lafayette Square). My first thought was BLT Steak, and it is closed on Sundays, and my next thought was Ceiba, but it is also closed on Sundays. Is J&G at the W a good alternative or are there better choices close by? Thanks!

I'd go for Potenza! Sundays always scream cozy Italian to me, and their food is really quite good.

Potenza has some good points, but, IMO, it's not in the same ballpark as J&G. It's a good neighborhood place, while J&G is one of the better restaurants in the city.

I've decided that I've really got to check out Equinox. Heading over there later this month.

You should head over ASAP while they still have chestnut soup on the menu :) It's incredible!

J & G is quite good. Other options in that area are Equinox and DC Coast---both of which I believe are open on Sundays.

Ici Urban Bistro is in the Sofitel and it's a very nice place. Always quiet, good service, and interesting food.

Equinox, Bombay Club and Oval Room are also options that I think are worth perusing. Haven't been to J&G yet, but have heard good things.

J&G is a *great* alternative, by which I mean it's much better than the other places you considered. FYI, many of their best dishes are not steak, although the steak is very good (wish I could say the same for the steak sauce....). Beautiful dining room, also.
