Need restaurant in Stamford area for BDAY party
I need to start planning my husband's 50th birthday party in April. We have a bunch of friends coming up from the city so I thought Stamford would be a good spot. But I'm not too familiar with good restaurants in that area. Any suggestion?? (about 25 ppl in total) Thanks!

I know its late in the game for this one but in the event someone reads this in the future, you may want to check out Greenwich Tavern, which is only 2 blocks from "Stamford"! They have a nice private room for 25-30

Morton's or Capitol both have private rooms. Also Mitchell's Fish Market.
Agree with Columbus Park Upstairs.napa is super pricey
eos is a cool greek place on summer that has a lovely space - might be something to consider
siena on summer is very good and they will also set a menu for you.
ferrante is not my favorite italian , but its good- and they have a lovely space as well
Also try

Last year a friend from Madison needed a restaurant to also celebrate a 50th for her husband and their friends from the City -- w Stamford being a convenient midpoint. I recommended Columbus Park upstairs party room and all were impressed with the quality of their Southern Italian fare (Puglia inspired) and the totally professional service.
I've never had a dissappointment there. Their osso bucco with risotto is unforgettable. Need now to go back just thinking about it!

I would agree 1,000% that the Osso is brilliant, but my experience with the service and the $40+ Dover Sole was really unacceptable. The server was pushy and not very pleasant (I thought I was in Greenwich) and the DS was one of the worst renditions of this dish my wife has ever eaten.

I agree with CBAM, cuisine and price range would definitely help narrow suggestions
If you're looking for more upscale dining both Market and Napa are popular and offer private dining options for a group of 25.
If you're cool with Spanish Tapas style, I don't think you can go wrong with Barcelona Wine Bar.
For more a casual bar style, but still nice environment, I'd look into BUtterfield 8.
By April we'll also have the new Bar Rosso and they'll be able to do private parties for 25 people as well.

Is Bar Rosso open yet? If not...they're whipping up sauce as we speak! Walking up Summer Street this AM to work and crossing near Spring Street a HUGE wafting aroma of garlic laden sauce gripped my olfactory senses and didn't let go for a good block. So either they're getting ready or somebody close by fired up the cauldron to make a FG smelling batch of sauce!
I can still smell it sitting here at my desk! OK...maybe not.

There are lots of great places. however, it would be helpful, and get more responses if you could be more specific about what you are looking for, price range, etc. Otherwise, there are lot's of posts about Stamford restaurants:
