  • 7

It's been rumored for a while, but El Charrito has announced the opening of their second location, a storefront at 7 Apache Pl, Greenwich, CT in the Riverside section of town.

  1. Wish they'd done a sit down place, but still great to see them with a permanent location to go along with the truck.

Between Bar Taco, Lola's, and El Charrito it's a pretty exciting time for FFC Mexican foodies.

I think this sounds like a good strategy... And i think the chances of success are much higher for them as a storefront rather than a full resto. This way they can run their business much like a taco truck, which they know and do well, and not have to worry about things like service and turnover and decor and everything else that is often the challenges of running a successful restaurant. I bet if this goes well, that will be their next step.

Sounds exciting. Hoping to take a detour there on one of my trips back to the East Coast

They didn't have any financing so stayed small. With just a little more money they could have split the difference... takeout counter with tables and chairs and refuse bins. I brought Peter Kelly of Xaiver's and X20 fame to try their food (he loved it) and he came up w a wild idea for them... put a faux truck inside a large indoor space with picnic tables. In effect, recreate Jackie Robinson only inside ... total fun. But limited funds prevailed. Let's hope Riverside. OG, Cos Cob aren't too rarified\!!!!

Lou, I know this Riverside resident will be cutting his drive to the truck by hitting the new storefront.

Is there any indoor location to eat near the new storefront? Hate to eat inside my car in the winter.

There aren't any tables - just a walk up counter.
