shiitake powder

does anyone know where i can source shiitake powder in toronto ?

      Or, you could simply purchase some shiitake or other dried wild mushrooms and make the powder in your spice/coffee grinder. It's very easy, FYI.

        I considered this as well but wouldn't there be grit in the dried mushrooms? When I use chinese dried mushrooms I always have to rinse after soaking.

          I would be surprised if the shiitake powder you buy was not made with the same whole dried shiitakes at the store. Perhaps you can use a pasty brush to try and brush off as much grit as you can. Truth be told, you probably won`t notice it in the powder anyway!
